Terra Maya is a receptive travel agency based in Merida, Mexico.

It is part of Terra Group, a network of travel agencies specialized in tailor-made trips created in 1998 and operating throughout Latin America, South Africa, Australia and Europe.

We are committed to a diverse range of activity built around the same theme - travel -, stimulating us personally as well as creating a synergy between our different activities. Our marketing strategy is centered on quality of service.

In our different agencies, the managers, the directors of operations and the salespersons, are all working in the field. They are professional, tri-lingual and experienced in modern work methods. This is one of the strongest points of our structure, and our contacts appreciate our willingness to recognize and advocate quality. This is expressed as much in the construction of programs (quick precise response, in the language of our operators) as in our operations (emphasis on security).

Our offices take care of their own logistics (equipment / materials / first aid supplies) and have a wide network of correspondents for particular areas of operation (Amazonia / Pantanal / the Andes).

This requirement for quality does not limit itself solely to a capacity to operate a successful tourist program; it is accompanied by competitive prices for every level of comfort desired.

This competitiveness is due partly to the negotiations with local operators (hotels, transport, guides, airline companies...) and  partly to our aim to operate services ourselves as often as possible, without intermediaries.

We wish to avoid having a high number of intermediaries :

• to limit accumulation of extra commissions being charged;

• to shorten the chain of communication and thus improve direct control of our operations;

• to conserve our determination to be a source of proposals and our capacity to innovate.

Each agency, realizes several scouting trips in new areas each year. Those trips, together with our media operations (TV reports, editing, printing press, writing of tourist guides) lead to a renewed knowledge of the countries in which we operate, as well as an increase and a renewal of itineraries offered.


Terra Group is equipped with a technological structure, toogonet, developing software dedicated to help the work of the receptive agency. The software “Toogo” has enabled us to optimize qualitatively our daily work and enables us to answer more quickly to your requests.


We are physically established continuously from Mexico to the Tierra de Fuego, as well as in South Africa, Australia and Europe (Spain and Portugal).

We have chosen to organize ourselves in a vast geographical area to be able to offer competitive trans-national trips as well as continent crossing trips.

Our 15 offices abroad have their own logistic and a network of partners to operate in difficult areas (Amazonia / Pantanal / isolated cordilleras / Antarctica).


Our concrete policies regarding responsible tourism ensure the motivation of the field teams and local communities we work with.


-Professional queries, except during week-ends, are, with the occasional exception, replied to within 24 hours by a trilingual representative, knowing perfectly the costs, the sites and the operations.

-Our respective websites are regularly updated and contain a non-exhaustive list of the programs we offer. They enable our clients (tour operators) to choose programs ideas, texts and pictures to build their own programs.

-Our agencies are in continuous contact with each other as well as with our partners (via phone, email, WhatsApp and Skype).


Our economic model is based both on the progressive opening of the company’s capital (18 associates in 2015) as well as on a bonus system. In addition to this, Terra regularly invests in field staff training programs. This model directly affects our team’s motivation.
