Quintana Roo and Riviera Maya

Huge limestone plateau overflowing on the Caribbean Sea, the state of Quintana Roo and the Riviera Maya have many charms to offer. It features dream landscapes where sandy beaches and turquoise waters mix.

Near the border with Belize, you will find the Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve, where the most beautiful coral reefs of the Caribbean can found.

The coast between Cancun and Tulum has seen seaside resorts springing up like mushrooms after the rain. Those who want to get away from the crowds of tourists can go to the island of Isla Mujeres, off the shores of Cancun. The beaches lined with palm trees and coral reefs (notably the playa Rancheros, natural reserve for sea turtles, and the playa El Garrafon, underwater national park) and the tropical forest that covers the center of the island and that shelters ruins of Mayan temples make up the charm of the “Island of the Women”.

Other place: Playa del Carmen. Located 68 km away from Cancun, its small hotels and their bungalows mainly attract European tourists. In spite of its exponential growth, Playa del Carmen is still one of the most pleasant beach of the Riviera Maya.
